About Me

A Lawyer Who Serves

As a husband, a father of four, and a son of elderly parents, I know what it is like to have soccer games, ballet practice, and scouts dominating your schedule leaving little time to think about the hard topics of legal life planning.

I earned my Bachelors at Baylor University, my Master of Arts in Public Policy from Regent University and my MBA at Pepperdine. More than twenty years ago, I started as an estate planning paralegal during law school.  I spent almost twenty years as in-house and General Counsel before realizing my dream of starting my own firm.  In addition to my Juris Doctor,  I earned an LL.M. in Tax from Regent Law School.  I was first licensed to practice law in 2003, in Arizona, then DC, also Iowa and my home state of Texas.

When I am not working for you, I prepare couples for marriage, help the indigent and feed the homeless in downtown Houston.  I also serve and teach in the Church.

As your Lawyer I will make sure your plans and desires for your family are put into place.

Practice Areas

Death and Taxes

The old saying goes, "The only certainties in life are death and taxes."  I can help you with both.  Let me help you destress and live longer by handling any IRS issues you may be facing.

Business Law

Starting a business is a complicated undertaking.  Let me help you with Contracts, entity formation, taxes and licenses.  Don't let important paperwork distract you from making money.

Asset Protection

Everyone benefits from asset protection in some form.  Some common asset protection strategies: Properly titling assets, Trusts such as the Irrevocable Asset Protection Trust, Limited Liability Companies, and Tax strategies.

Although not the most efficient or desirable means of transferring assets at your death, the Estates Code does provide a plan for your assets.  In Texas the disadvantages of probate can be eliminated with a  proper estate plan.

Real Estate

Real Estate Law can be complex.  Let me help you with the purchase and or sale of real property, disclosure disputes, contract review and preparation, commercial and residential leases, and landlord/tenant.

Estate Planning

Make sure you decide what happens with your hard earned money and assets.  If you don't have a plan, the state does have a plan called intestate succession.  Contact me and let's put a plan in place for you and your loved ones.
